How to Gain a You, Again Winter Dust Jacket in Two Ways
Hi friends!
I recently began posting my “limited edition” You, Again dust jackets and many people have asked me how to buy one. They aren’t available for sale. In fact, I only had them made because…I wanted to. I feel strongly that You, Again is as much a winter book as a fall book and I thought it would be fun. This is my little way of making a special edition of the book without expecting people to spend a bunch of money on a book they already have.

As you can see, it’s a New Year’s Eve-themed image on the outside and a little NYC map of You, Again locations on the inside. I signed them on the flap. It was created by my talented friend Selina.
Did this cost me time and money? Yes.
Was there a better way to go about this? Almost certainly.
Did I think through how to give them out? Why would I ever do that?
But because I have a very limited supply of these (and I actually had to trim and fold them myself), and I can’t sell them, I needed to figure out a way to distribute them and make it just annoying enough to discourage the uncommitted.
Important caveats:
At this time, I can only mail within the U.S. because it’s just too expensive for me to ship things internationally. I’ll try to do at least one international giveaway at some point!
The dust jacket fits the U.S. paperback, not the Book of the Month hardcover. Again, too expensive to print two different sizes.
As mentioned, I made these by hand, so they might have some slight loving imperfections which makes them unique and beautiful.
Okay, still in? Here are two ways to get the book jacket. Once you have done either one of these, you need to fill out your information in the Google form linked below. This is the most important step because it’s how I’m tracking everything.
This is how I’ll get your mailing address and confirmation!
Option 1: Create an Instagram post featuring your pet with a copy of You, Again.
In the caption, please state whether your pet is more of an Ari or a Josh.
Nothing gives me more joy than seeing a photo of a pet with a copy of You, Again. Perhaps this is because my own dog does not willingly pose for me (that’s why most of the photos I post of her are taken while she’s asleep or has this expression on her face).
If you don’t have a pet, feel free to create a drawing of a pizza rat and pose that next to the book.
Don’t have access to a pet or want to respect their social media privacy? Here’s another option:
2. Make a donation of any size to Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary.
This is a small organization near my hometown that works to care for horses in need. Click the little yellow donate button on the site. They take donations through Paypal or Venmo. Here’s their mission:
To offer a safe haven for unwanted, abused, or neglected horses: shelter, nutrition, vet and farrier care, and most importantly – unconditional love and attention. Once a horse's overall health, well-being, and soundness are accomplished, they are assessed for possible placement and adoption by a qualified owner.
My mom has volunteered with them for many years. Also, there is a horse there named Kate:
Kate was a neglect case we received about two years ago. She can be sweet, kind, honest and take care of her rider with grace! She's been recently tuned up and really has earned a new forever kind/loving home and caregiver!
Without a best friend.....Kate can become very codependent and bossy with other mares. She spent some years of her life alone........thus feels the need to control and protect "her mares."
Listen, sometimes we become codependent and controlling because of neglect, okay?
All you have to do is make a donation (it can be small, it’s fine) and save the receipt/proof so that you can upload it to the Google form.
So that’s it. You can do the social post OR the donation but
YOU MUST FILL OUT THE FORM because that’s how I’m tracking this!
Thanks everyone! I’ll update this and take down the form once I’m out of dust jackets.
kthx love you bye
